Everybody will like to live in a just society
Have you ever envisioned a just society?
By the way, how do you define a just society?
It is a society with no beggars on the road
Where there are no homeless on the street
Where the poor and the needy are cared for
Where there is equality of opportunities
Where the color of the skin, race or tribe
does not determine social status and hierarchy
Where higher education is not for the rich
Where there is freedom of expression
Where there is freedom of movement
Where the police are considered as friends
and not as law-enforcers and enemies
Where medical services are free for all
A society where there is equality before the law
A society devoid of nepotism and corruption
Where individual achievements are based
on their natural talents and abilities
A just society is a morally correct society
A just society cherishes word like decency and ethics
In a just society there is honesty, fairness and honor
Are these too much to ask for in a society?
Seeking a just society does not mean a quest for
a society full of saints and flawless human beings
It is a quest for a society of law-abiding citizens who
regard each other as brothers and sisters irrespective
of race, color of skin and family background
A just society is an ideal society
Ladies and Gentlemen, brothers and sisters,
What are your thoughts of a just society?
You stated your ideas very well. I too have been asking that same question all my life. I still have not come up with an answer that will satisfy all of humankind.
wonderful expression of thoughts. this topic is one many people currently long and hope for. gives something to think aboutHello CSS, I thank you for your kind comments on my poem - What Is A Just Society?Julius BabarinsaThis si very nice how did you come up with this? What inspired you? Why did you think of this?Hello Beth Anne Smith,Thanks very much for your generous comments on my poem - What Is A Just Society? As a student of Political Science and International Relations, it was very easy for me to write this poem.May the Sun continue to shine on you and all the members of your family.Julius Babarinsa
I feel like you have a basic idea for what a just society, but that your ideas are flawed and impossible. For example, it is impossible to have free medical care for all. Who is going to pay for the medical professionals? For the medical equipment? Who will pay the bills to build these hospitals and other medical facilities. You also say where higher education isn't just for the rich. This is also a flaw. There is nothing stopping the non rich from attending college. If anything, the non rich are handed more opportunites to go to school. (and to go for free, where the rich must pay out of pocket.) It is each persons own responsibility to do what it takes to get their higher education. You can't sit on your couch without trying and cry and blame everyone else for your failing.Apparently you have not either read properly, understood, or would not want to understand this beautiful poem. The poet is unequivocal in that a just society is a IDEAL society, a path to happiness. The idea is to approach a just society as close as feasible. History has consistently shown, that failing in that endeavor without interruption, has consistently resulted in unhappiness; and waste in energy for rebalancing. Apparently you also favor impossibilities to possibilities. May I suggest you return to possibilities, which will make you much happier, and remove any dark overhead clouds. Life is as complicated as humans make it. In trying to reach an ideal, and as a son/daughter of NATURE, may I suggest you research nature as close, and as frequent as you are willing to conceive. You will find happiness in the process.

I take issue with many points of your poem, for the sake of time I will focus very briefly on one statement and ask you to posit your thoughts. I must say from the outset that you are a very clever writer. You state the following: "A just society is a morally correct society." From my vantage point, this appears to be the over all theme of your poem. I then ask you who decides what is morally correct? Are you advancing the concept of "Community Morality?" If so, does this conflict with our founding principles? Finally, It is obvious to me now why Plato was so suspicious of poets.
